Glycerine USP Kosher

Glycerine USP Kosher  are products of superior quality and are approved as additive for medical, food, and cosmetic use. Production follows standards set by the US FDA so you are assured of getting an excellent purchase. Glycerine USP Kosher, a quality division of ChemWorld, provides plant-based products that are perfectly safe to use. Its USP indication means that glycerine is food grade and is non-toxic.

Glycerin can be found in animal fats through egg yolks, brain, and cod liver oil while it can be sourced from plant oils like olive, coconut, and palm. Glycerin can be separated from fatty acids through saponification of an alkali or basic oxide. This non-electrolyte alcohol is syrupy, colorless, sweet, and odorless. Its specific gravity is 1.28 and remains unfrozen at -35°C. It gives off acrolein when distilled without water – a substance with a strong odor that irritates the eyes, nose, and lungs.

Glycerin does not evaporate or turns rancid. It can readily mix with water and alcohol but not with ether and benzene. Glycerin is also hygroscopic and combustible. It has a flash point of 199°C and an autoignition value of 370°C. Pure glycerin is slightly drying when applied on the skin and is laxative when ingested.
